Viksit Bharat 2047: Building a Strong Economy, Strong Banks & a Stronger India

As an MBA Finance student, I believe the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 is not only about achieving higher economic growth—it is about creating a resilient, inclusive, innovative and sustainable economy capable of competing globally.

A developed India will require strong financial foundations built on these key pillars:

1. Strong & Competitive Economy

India’s growth must be driven by innovation, entrepreneurship, productivity, infrastructure, manufacturing and global competitiveness. Supporting startups, MSMEs and new-age businesses will be crucial for generating employment and creating economic value.

2. Robust & Resilient Banking System

Banks are the backbone of economic development. A strong banking sector can mobilise savings, provide productive credit, support businesses, manage financial risks and strengthen financial stability. Healthy asset quality, effective governance and responsible lending will remain essential.

3. Digital & Inclusive Finance

Digital banking, UPI, fintech and technology-driven financial services are transforming the way Indians access and use finance. Expanding access to formal financial services for individuals, MSMEs, rural communities and underserved sections can create wider economic opportunities.

4. Financing India’s Infrastructure & MSMEs

India’s journey towards becoming a developed economy will require significant investment in infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy and MSMEs. Efficient capital allocation and accessible credit will play an important role in converting these opportunities into sustainable growth.

“ From Financial Strength to National Strength — Viksit Bharat 2047. ”

5. Sustainable & Responsible Growth

Economic development must also be environmentally responsible. Green finance, ESG-focused investment, renewable energy financing and sustainable business practices can help India achieve growth while addressing long-term environmental challenges.

6. Technology, AI & Financial Innovation

Artificial intelligence, data analytics, blockchain and digital platforms are reshaping financial services. Future finance professionals must understand how technology can improve credit assessment, fraud detection, risk management, customer experience and investment decisions.

7. Role of Future Management & Finance Professionals

As future managers and finance professionals, our responsibility goes beyond understanding numbers. We must learn to make better capital-allocation decisions, manage risk, promote innovation, understand financial technology and create long-term value for businesses and society.

Viksit Bharat 2047 is not merely a government vision—it is a collective opportunity and responsibility for businesses, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, professionals and the next generation of leaders.

The India of 2047 will be built through the decisions we make today.
